What the renter pays

Frequently asked questions
Does it really cost nothing to list?+
Yes. You can list unlimited items for free. The 10% fee applies to paid rentals, including qualifying renter-initiated cancellations under Terms §9.
Are there any fees for renters?+
No. Renters pay the price you set plus applicable sales tax. ShareGarage's 10% platform fee is deducted from the owner's rental proceeds.
What if a booking is cancelled?+
Unpaid bookings that are cancelled are never charged. Renters who cancel 24 hours or more before pickup get 90% of the rental price back; less than 24 hours, 50%. Applicable sales tax is refunded as required by law. ShareGarage's 10% platform fee still applies to these renter-initiated cancellations under Terms §9. If an owner cancels a paid booking, the renter gets a full refund including tax, the owner earns $0, and ShareGarage keeps no platform fee. Owners are never charged a cancellation fee.
